This month the studio had a very big night out. Rikki Lee, The Blackties, and The Newtones got the party started at The second annual Halo Ball. A fantastic event supporting a much-underfunded problem across many communities.

Rikki Lee got the party started and keep it going!

An amazing night was had by all (especially the Be you’s table) and through the donations and generosity of the attendees, BaptistCare raised over $100,000 for women and children breaking free from the cycle of domestic and family violence.

Welcome to the second annual Halo Ball.

Bidding on the auction.

Deborah Knight did a great job standing in for Natalie Barr.

These valuable funds enable BaptistCare to continue their work transforming the lives of hundreds of families to help end the cycle of abuse. BaptistCare’s  ‘whole of family’ approach supports families through counselling, men’s behaviour change programs, crisis and long term accommodation for women and children as well as no-interest loans. Delivered through centres that mould their services to suit the needs of local communities and clients. BaptistCare has now provided support to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence for over 30 years. People impacted by domestic violence are often made vulnerable through manipulation, control and fear. Domestic violence doesn’t have to be physical abuse. It can be emotional, psychological, financial, sexual or even other types of abuse. We heard from Mary a very special speaker who escaped domestic violence on the night, watch her story below.

Domestic Violence can affect anyone in the community, regardless of gender, sexual identity, race, age, culture, ethnicity, religion, disability, economic status or location.
